Big Bear Lake is a comfortable two-hour drive from downtown Los Angeles or Palm Springs and is within 3 hours from San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Las Vegas.

DIRECTIONS VIA HIGHWAY 38: Travel east on Interstate 10 about six miles past the intersection of the 10 and the 215. (DO NOT take the off ramp for "30 to 330 and Mountain Resorts" unless you are going to follow directions via 30 and 330.) Take the exit for "Orange Avenue" (one mile past the exit for 30 to 330). Travel along a frontage road to the traffic light (two blocks). Turn left (or north) on Orange. Travel about one mile to Lugonia Avenue. Turn right on Lugonia. From this point, you are about 52 miles from the Alpenhorn. Follow the main road. When you reach the Big Bear Valley floor, Highway 38 makes an abrupt left turn. Just follow the main road to the left. Now you are on Big Bear Blvd. in Big Bear City - ignore Hwy. 38 from this point on. You will want to stay on Big Bear Blvd. Continue through Big Bear City and enter the City of Big Bear Lake (several miles). You will pass Von's on the right and Stater Bros. on the left. The fourth traffic light past the grocery stores is Georgia Street, and the second street past Georgia is Knight Avenue. Turn left on Knight and go one long block. The Alpenhorn is on the left at 601 Knight. Turn left into the parking lot.

DIRECTIONS VIA HIGHWAYS 330/18: If traveling from Los Angeles, take interstate 10 east to Highway 30 and then exit onto Highway 330. Highway 330 becomes Highway 18. When you reach the Lake, turn right at the dam, head east on Big Bear Blvd. Make a left on Paine Road, which then curves to the right and again becomes Big Bear Blvd. Make a right on Knight Ave. and the Inn will be located about one block up on your left.

If traveling from San Diego, take Interstate 15 north to Interstate 215 north and then exit onto Highway 30. Stay on Highway 30 until you reach Highway 330. Stay on Highway 330 until you reach Running Springs, where it becomes Highway 18. When you reach the Lake, turn right at the dam, head east on Big Bear Blvd. Make a left on Paine Road, which then curves to the right and again becomes Big Bear Blvd. Make a right on Knight Ave. and the Inn will be located about one block up on your left.
